Board of Aldermen · Official record

Minutes & records.

The official record of city business — posted here after each month's minutes are approved.

How minutes work

Approved first, posted second.

Minutes are the board's official record of each meeting. They're drafted after the meeting, then reviewed and approved by the board at a following meeting — only then do they become the official record and publish here.

That's why the newest month is always "in the works." If you need something sooner, don't wait on this page: call City Hall at 601.736.8201 and the clerk's office will help you request any city record.

Quick questions

When does a meeting's minutes appear here?

After the board approves them — typically at a following meeting. Draft minutes aren't the official record, so this page only carries the approved version.

I need a record before it posts. What do I do?

Call City Hall at 601.736.8201. The clerk's office handles records requests and will point you to the right document — minutes, ordinances, or anything else in the city's files.

Can I attend a board meeting?

Yes — the Board of Aldermen meets at City Hall, 201 Second Street, and meetings are open to the public. Call 601.736.8201 for the current meeting schedule.
