Clean water, deep roots.
Columbia's water comes from wells drawing on the Miocene Aquifer, stored in three reservoirs and delivered through roughly 16 miles of lines to about 863 meters across town. And the story runs deeper: the city's historic 1947 Waterworks building — an Art Moderne landmark — is being restored through a state preservation grant.
